Guns For Sale - Colt Whitneyville -- Dragoon Rare 1847 revolver 44 cal. 1 of 240.

THIS SUPER RARE ANTIQUE COLT 6 SHOT 44 CALIBER BLACK POWDER REVOLVER WAS MADE IN LATE 1847. IT CAME WITH A 7.5 INCH BARREL THAT WAS PART OCTAGON. THIS IS THE RIGHT SER# RANGE FOR THIS RARE REVOLVER. ALL NUMBERS MATCHING. SER# AS SHOWN IN PHOTOS. SOME OF THESE WERE MADE WITH NO MARKINGS AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE. THIS ALSO HAD A VERY RARE CYLINDER REPAIR BY SOME VERY SMART OLD GUNSMITH. SHOWN IN THE NEXT TO LAST PHOTO. ONE OF THE CYLINDER HOLES HAD A CRACK AND WAS REMOVED AND REPAIRED. VERY WELL DONE. THE CYLINDER SCEEN WAS LOST THOUGH WHEN COMPLETING THE REPAIR. IT STILL WORKS FAIRLY WELL AND COME WITH A LATER MADE TO FIT VINTAGE LEATHER HOLSTER. ALSO HAS A DOVE TAIL THAT WAS CUT MANY YEARS AGO FOR ANOTHER TYPE OF REAR SIGHT.
