Buyer Tip: If you're the
High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder.
Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't
high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that
you are. All Auctions are conducted in Pacific Time.
This Winchester Model 1895 has been completely refinished including a new Douglas #2 barrel. The barrel measures 26 ¾”, it is marked 30-40 and the bore is mint. The Fajen stock and matching forestock are really excellent (see photos), very attractive burl in the walnut. Fit and finish is excellent. There are a few minor use marks. We rate the wood at 98%. The metal refinish is good but not perfect. They were a little heavy handed on the tangs and the top of the receiver so the lettering is pretty thin. It is better on the left side plate marking. The bluing is unmarked except where the lever comes down over the magazine. The serial number is 11381 which means it was made in 1898. It is fitted with a Redfield aperture rear sight. The “peep” is missing. OAL is ~45 ½” and LOP is 12 ½”. The action looks great and functions smoothly. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds. It is a very nice rifle.
PLEASE READ THE PAYMENT & SHIPPING INFORMATION POSTED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION. IT MAY SAVE TIME FOR BOTH OF US.
BEFORE YOU ASK WHAT THE RESERVE IS, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING…
RESERVE AUCTIONS:
We do not disclose the Reserve on our “RESERVE AUCTIONS” because doing so defeats the purpose of the auction. Disclosing the Reserve makes it a “Sale”, not an auction, much like a classified listing. Most of the firearms we offer at auction are on consignment from one of our clients. Our commitment to our clients is to obtain the highest fair market price possible for their firearms. Thus, we prefer the Reserve Auction and the “HAGGLE” feature offered by Auction Arms. About 50% of our sales are completed via the Haggle. In a Reserve auction the bidder is not necessarily aiming to hit the reserve. The bidder is however aiming to be the high bidder. When the auction ends the high bidder may request a HAGGLE or the seller may initiate a HAGGLE. This is a one-on-one exchange between buyer and seller to try and come to a mutual agreement on a price. If you are not familiar with the HAGGLE process, click on Auction Arms “Help & Info” for complete details. For those items that are not on consignment we usually offer a convenient “Buy-It-Now” price.
We are GOLDEN BEAR SERVICES, INC., a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer. We list on our auctions a variety of offerings including firearms, ammunition, reloading tools & supplies and other accessories we pick up from clients who are interested in liquidating their firearms collections. We are also stocking dealers in a variety of “Mil Spec” manufacturers of quality AR15 & AR10 firearms and accessories including Uppers, Lowers, Parts Kits, barrels, stocks, mags, complete firearms and anything else we think you might be interested in.

SAFETY NOTICE:
Buyer is solely responsible for determining that a used gun is safe to shoot. The firearms offered have not been test fired. Whether purchased here or somewhere else we urge every buyer to have any used firearm they purchase inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing.
PAYMENT & SHIPPING:
You are bidding on a Winchester Model 1895 .30 US (.30-40 Krag) completely refinished in excellent condition. Even though this is an antiqe rifle we prefer to ship to a licensed FFL or C&R Dealer. However, we do have a "waiver" form and we will ship to the transferee directly once we have a signed "waiver" and proof of age (21 years or older for handguns and 18 years or older for long guns) and residency (a copy of your valid driver’s license or birth certificate). Buyer pays for shipping which includes carrier fees, packaging & insurance. Payment can be Money Order, Cashier’s Check or Personal Check which must clear before shipping (allow 10 days), NO Credit Cards, Pay-Pal or Gun-Pal. Shipping is by UPS Ground (or other method chosen by the shipper) with an estimated cost of approx. $26.00 to $38.00 depending on package weight, your ZIP Code and insured value. Know your local laws before bidding, especially if you are a resident of CA, CT, DC, NY, NJ, HA, IL, MA, MD.
