Here I have for sale a most unique opportunity for all you cowboy action shooters and fans of black powder revolvers. Included in this auction are not one but two .44cal 1858 Remington New Army revolvers manufactured in the early 1990s by Pietta of Italy.
These fine revolvers have steel frames, octagonal barrels, fine wood grips and sequential serial numbers! In 1995 I had some custom work done to these guns to make them more useful for quick draw. I had the barrels shortened to 5.25" along with the loading levers. I also had the hammer spur bent back and down a bit so you could get your thumb on it quicker for faster cocking. I found I still have the work order for $194.22 which I will include with the pistols. To lighten the hammer pull for me my gunsmith removed the mainspring adjustment screws which worked really well. I never had a problem with ignition failure and eventually lost those screws. New Screws may be purchased for $3.00 each at the following web address: http://www.vtigunparts.com/store/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=67&cat=Pietta+1858+Remington%2C+Tiro. Also included with this auction are two unfired unturned cylinders worth $85.00 each. If you want to do a quick reload simply preload the spare cylinders, then when the gun is empty you drop the loading lever pull the cylinder pin, pop out the empty cylinder, insert the loaded cylinder, and presto you are back in the fight. Of course for safety's sake I would not recommend walking around with a primed and loaded cylinder. If you droped it bad things could happen.
Condition is as you can see in the pictures. Minor finish wear on some sharp edges from the little carry these gun received. Slight pitting on the cylinders is shown and easily fixed via insertion of the new cylinders. The bores look very good to excellent with nice rifleing and no signs of corrosion. Timing is like new as I have shot less than 100rds through each revolver lock up is tight. Minor dents can be seen in the grips where something bumped into it. I have tried to be complete in listing all faults look closely at the pictures. Ask questions if you have any.
As This is Black powder I will not need a FFL but I will need a photocopy of your drivers license or state ID with the following signed statement "I am over the age of 21 years and their are no laws or legal impediments to my purchasing these black powder firearms."
