You’re looking at a Spanish AYA Matador Side-by-Side 10 Gauge shotgun, which was imported by Firearms International Corporation of Washington, D.C. This Matador is a double-trigger, hammerless shotgun with a top tang mounted safety and one-piece extractor. The gun has 32&334; barrels chambered for 3-1/2" shells with a solid rib and front bead sight. Both barrels are choked FULL. The bores are shiny and in very good condition with no signs of pitting. The frame, sides and bottom of the receiver are engraved.
The gun has about 90% of its original blue finish, however the blue is starting to thin on the barrels and edges of the receiver. There’s also a spot of the left-side of the receiver where the blue is worn (see photos). There are some rust spots and a few spots of pitting in the barrels. The left barrel has a small ding midway between the muzzle and the front of the forend (see photos). There’s also some spots of rust on the bottom of the receiver, otherwise the metal on this double is in good condition.
The gun has a checkered beavertail forearm and checkered pistol grip stock. The wood appears to have its original finish. There are some handling marks and scratches in the forend, but no cracks. The stock also has some scratches with some divots, but no cracks (see photos). Other than these handling marks the wood is in good condition. The gun has a vented Browning rubber recoil pad, which is in good condition (see photos). L.O.P. to the front trigger is 14-1/2" and 13-5/8" to the rear trigger.
The action closes tight and the tang lever is left of center. Overall the gun is in very good condition mechanically and good in appearance. Serial #128669. STK. #21397.
If you're a shotgunner, this heavy hitter 10 Gauge would make a great goose gun as is or better yet, with some time and effort it could be redone and turned into a good looking field shooter.
