Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Ruger -- M77 Red Pad round top FACTORY maple stock 7x57

There may be a 77 that is more rare but...... Came from a retired factory employee who, back in the day, was able to slip in a fantastic piece of Tiger striped Maple into the production line. The rifle has been test fired only, never scoped or hunted. Wood and metal rate at 99.9% and of course it's a roundtop AND 7x57 to boot. Had two stockmakers look at it as I thought it might be super fancy French but no, it's Maple. There's never been another and never will be. A serious collectors rifle. FFL required. 30% down will hold it with balance due in 60 days OR a BIN gets free shipping.

Questions for Users
(Public)
Q:  Dear Sir: Box or papers??? 01/14/2012
A:  As the rifle was never made to be sold through the normal distributor/dealership network, there would have never been a box made for it or any papers supplied. It's what we used to call a "lunchbox job", back in the day. When it is "one of one", a box is rather immaterial. 01/14/2012

Q:  Is she pre warning and could you tell me serial # prefix- Regards and Thank you in advance. Jim 02/04/2012
        A:  All round tops are pre-warning. Serial # is 70-4645x. Thanks ! 02/04/2012

Q:  Sir, I am an avid collector of the old model 77's with sights, both the RS and ST models. Can you provide a letter or other documentation that would prove the gun was assembeled at the facatory? Thank you for your time, James. 02/27/2012
A:  James, while Ruger (I think) has a factory letter service, I doubt there would be any record of a rifle stock inserted into the regular production run by an employee as that was probably a big "no-no". The actual man (original owner) is dead and all I have is "word of mouth" and the evaluation of two stock makers. Lots of things go on at big companies (like the famous Kodak 22 rimfire semi-auto pistols) that are never documented. The price is really about the same as many "bread and butter" Rugers like their "Black Rifle" or a minty 77 RSM. Any 7x57 round top is rare, this one just has a little extra appeal. thanks. 02/27/2012
