The TUMBLER is the moving part the hammer mounts on, + it fits into the square hole in the hammer, as it moves on the lockplate. It fits all 45-70 Trapdoor Rifles, Cadets, + Carbines perfectly. Also, if your tumbler is cracked, chipped, or damaged,or too worn, here is a perfect ORIGINAL replacement. And, good to modify for an easier trigger let-off, while keeping your tumbler intact. Fits Civil War Muskets + 50-70`s perfectly, except a bit short, + the square shank goes only half way through the hammer, as the Civil War lockplate is thicker, otherwise identical.
