Scarce old original 1870s SIGHT SCREW for mounting the 45-70 Trapdoor 1870s rear sight. Not for the 1884 Buffington Sight.This screw is now very difficult to find. Used, buggered head, but still good threads + still use-able condition. Several available, taken from old Trapdoors years ago, now bringing them out. Most are original un-slotted, installed with a clamp screwdriver so the soldiers could not easily remove them. The heads show buggering from long nose pliers, but the threads are still good. Could be carefully improved somewhat. Very hard to find. If you have the gun, + need this sight part, think seriously about this while still available. Had for years.
