This is a Target Rifle of the mid 1800"s, excellent bore, Tiger Stripe Maple. The barrel is 38 caliber 31 1/2" long, the bore is excellent and shiny with very fine defined rifling, rear disc peep sight and hooded front sight both are dovetailed, barrel is pinned to the stock, ram rod pipes are steel, nipple is a replacement. The back lock is very good, inspected cleaned and greased, functions very well as do the double set triggers, fine hammer. Stock is solid Tiger Striped Maple, with a very good repair in the hammer area(look at photo), two cracks by lock holding screw, no chips, few small handling marks, beautiful solid stock. Trigger guard, butt plate, and heel plate are brass. All metal is in very good condition, steel parts have a patina coat. Should make one great gun for a serious Kentucky rifle target enthusiast, solid nice old Kentucky rifle.
