This is a fine Kentucky Percussion Half Stock Rife from the gunmaker Frederick T Emch of Sandusky/Seneca, Ohio. The 44 caliber 32" long barrel is 1.1" round back to a wedding band at the cap area, to a 1.15 octagon breech, the bore is very good+ shiny, the rear sight has height adjustment, the front sight is a long blade, both are dovetailed to the barrel, the ram rod pipes are steel and along with the barrel and lock are in the white, the barrel is keyed to the stock. The back-lock has no name, works very well as do the double set triggers. The Walnut stock is in nice condition, no cracks, no chips, no repairs, with a brass patchbox, finish appears to be original, decorated with brass and silver medallions, brass trigger guard and butt plate. Forearm cap is pewter with a non threatening crack. Ram rod is not original. Overall this is a very fine solid rifle. Antique no FFL license required.
