Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The original box is retained and provided with this gun. The top of the box is present though separated and the sides have come off. The sides of the top are retained, one is attached with its original tape on the lower box, the other side is now found inside the lower box portion. The end flap label of the top is missing. The lower box portion is present and has an end label marked "Colt Automatic Pistol / Woodsman Model .22 / Long Rifle. The bottom of the cardboard box has the serial number written in pencil and is clearly very old. The inside of the top of the box is printed with "Colt Automatic Pistol", and all of the standard wording. The bottom of the box is marked "Colt Revolvers / Automatic Pistols Automatic Machine Guns" and all of its standard wording. Please see our pictures. A cleaning brush is included as well. There is one magazine provided. The magazine is in good condition with a strong spring, there is some wear and some pinprick surface erosion but much blue and the condition is very good.
Our Assessment: This is a very nice pre-war Colt Woodsman with its box. The gun is in just great condition and is shootabe as is. The blue is good, the bore is great, the grips are excellent and there is still a box present. Collectors, shooters and Colt enthusiasts should be clamoring for this gun. A Pre-war boxed Woodsman in good condition is a 'find', good luck.
