Questions for Users
Q:  Is a C&R license ok? The item is likely made in the 1930s? 11/01/2011
A:  a C&R license is fine for this item 11/02/2011
Q:  Hello, Me again. The serial number on the stock is located in the wood under the butt plate. The serial number on the butt plate is on the under side. If you take out the two screws in the butt plate and remove it you can see all serial numbers. This rifle has had two non-factory holes drilled in the receiver for the side scope mount. If you are looking at the left side of the rifle you can see two large flat head screws that hold the scope mount on. These screws ride in the two holes that were drilled in the rifle. These screws have kneral edges so they can be removed easily. If the holes are drilled correctly with a drill press they will be nice and clean and the bluing around the holes will be perfect. If someone drilled them without a press they will be off center and a lot of bluing will be missing. I suspect you will not want to take screws out of this rifle to take the pictures and check the serial numbers. I understand this very well. If you are not comfortable doing so just let me know if the butt plate is the correct version and I will assume the serial numbers are mismatched. The correct version of the butt plate should have the SVG letter logo and not the indian head logo. I also would like some information on the condition of the bore. Is it shinny and does it have strong rifling? I really appriciate you takeing the time to answer. I really love these old rifles and it brings the hard core collector out in me. Scott 11/02/2011
A:  The serial number on the butt stock is 914. The letters SVG are located on the metal part of the butt plate. The drill holes on the side of the rifle look clean and centered to me, as best as I can tell. There is no significant loss of bluing around the holes, however, there are no numbers underneath the metal scope mount plate. The bore does appear to be in good condition with defined rifling - free from pitting or rusting. It could use a good cleaning though. 11/07/2011
Q:  Hello, do you have an FFL or C&R license? My dealer only accepts shipment from other licensees. Thanks, Bill. 11/03/2011
A:  We do have an FFL 11/03/2011
