Action Type: Pump Action, Tubular Magazine

Markings: The top of the barrel is marked "Savage Arms Corp. Utica N.Y. U.S.A. / Patented Dec 25, 1906, Ju8ne 1, 1815, Mar. 26 1916, Apr. 11 1916". The top of the sight is marked "Savage Arms Corp. / Patent Apllied For". The top of the barrel flat ahead of the receiver is marked "Model 1914 / .22 S, L, & LR". The tang is marked "Savage / 1914 Model".

Barrel Length: 24", Octagonal

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a front blade in a dovetail slot, and a rear screw adjustable leaf sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock(s) is/are wood in servicable condition. The forend screws are missing. There are some dings scratches and compression marks onthe stock but no major cracks or losses. The left side of the buttstock has some paint marks and a large scratch. The letters "TM" are scratched into the wood behind the trigger.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The rifling is shallow. There is scattered erosion down the length of the barrel.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 50% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows scattered surface erosion on the barrel. The receiver sides show surface erosion. The pump rod shows much surface rust and erosion, as does the magazine tube. There is deeper erosion/rust on the top of the receiver at the left side and at the bottom on the left side. The Screw heads are in servicable condition and show mild use/disfiguration. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about fair condition.

Mechanics: The action functions but the screws that hold the forend to the pump rod are missing . There is no bolt present .

Box & Accessories: None

Our Assessment: This is a good restoration project.A few missing parts replaced and you have a vintage collectable Savage at a fraction of the price.

CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This gun can be transferred in California and is C&R eligible.

Shipping:

USPS Insured shipping will cost $30. To reduce the likelihood of damage during shipping, we disassemble long guns by removing stocks when it is possible & easy and will not damage the wood or screws. We will also break down takedowns. We have had problems with rough carrier handling breaking the stocks at the wrist, and since we have begun to disassemble, we have not had any breakage. All parts will be individually wrapped. If you would prefer to not have your item disassembled, please let us know as soon as you win the bid. We package all merchandise for shipment on the Monday following the sale.

Your gun will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of payment, usually the next day and you will receive an email notification with a tracking number upon receipt of your payment to let you know that we have received it. If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick the gun up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley, CA - (M-F. 8-5) (unless the gun is not available in California, as noted above).

This gun can only be shipped to an FFL or C&R, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your dealer’s license with payment. We will need CLFD numbers for CA FFL’s to ship. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.

We also offer local pick-up and transfers at our shop in Simi Valley, California (when item is California legal).

Payment:

Full payment on non-layaway items is required within 14 days. We accept Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Cash and Personal Checks. No Credit Cards or electronic payments are accepted.

CA Sales tax applies to CA buyers (7.25%).

Layaways are offered, requiring a 20% non refundable down payment within 7 days of the auction’s close and the balance within 60 days. No returns are accepted on Layaway items.

Successful Bidder Instructions:

You will be invoiced the morning after the sale. This invoice will include totals for the sale and all instructions.

If you win an item and are not willing or able to complete the sale, you will be liable for 5% of the sale price.

Returns (less shipping) are accepted within 3 days of when the item is delivered with signature confirmation. Returns are very costly for both the buyer and for us, so please ask all of your questions before bidding and please be sure you can legally purchase this item.
