Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Eastfield by Smith and Wesson -- 916-A 3 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun,

LSB#: 110726JP1

Make: Eastfield / Smith & Wesson.

Model: Eastfield 916-A

Caliber: 12 Gauge

Action Type: Pump Action

Serial Number: 984780

Barrel Length: 18"; Choked Cylinder Bore

Stock Configuration & Condition: Varnished wood furniture on both the butt and forend. A plastic butt plate is fitted to the stock. The wood shows considerable use and handling. There is the beginning of a crack on the bottom rear of the forend pump wood. While it does not currently compromise the functionality of this shotgun, and this may be fixed with simple glue, the potential buyer can see it in the accompanying photographs. The wood rates about fair overall.

Sights: A brass bead is affixed to the front of the barrel.

Type of Finish: Blued Finish

Year of Manufacture: Modern; 1960s-1970s

Markings: "Eastfield Model 916-A / MFG. By Smith & Wesson / Springfield, MASS., U.S.A." is proudly stamped on the left side of the barrel; "R 9 8" is stamped on the underside of the barrel. "Proof Tested 12 GA/-3 Inch Chamber-/Cylinder Bore" is stamped on the right side of the barrel. "Z" and a proof mark are stamped on the bottom of the receiver.

Finish Originality: Original

Finish Condition: Someone Had A Plan... Little of the original bluing remains, the shotgun looks as if someone took a sheet of sandpaper to it in preparation of a refinish. There is some freckling and erosion in the finish, perhaps the cause of the sandpaper application. None of it compromises the integrity or functionality of the shotgun, but, as one of our employees opined, "That gun would look good… in the garage…". The gun rates about poor overall.

Bore Condition: Shiny; possibly the best thing about this shotgun.

Mechanics: The gun appears to function smoothly and correctly, although we have not test-fired this shotgun.

Overall Condition / Final Thoughts: This shotgun is the definition of the word "beater", although, if one needed a truck, boat, or garage gun, this would probably haul the freight! Unlovely as it may be, this is a 3 inch chambered 12 gauge riot shotgun, which is nothing to sneeze at. Whether keeping zombies or goblins at bay, this gun will still do the job!
