Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: All original
Bore Condition: The rifling is sharp and deep, the bore is bright. The shotgun barrel is clean and bright.. The rifle barrel will benefit from additional cleaning. There is no apparent erosion in either barrel.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 50% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows much surface rust and erosion on both barrels, above the receiver, but the bores are good. The receiver finish is in much better condition, Perhaps some liquid got into the storage case and damaged the barrel finish while not disturbing the receiver which was in a different compartment.. The rifle barrel has more surface erosion than the 20ga.. Both barrels will benefit from a good cleaning and some steel wool and elbow grease. The receiver metal has just begun to discolor and fade. The Screw heads are serviceable and show minor use. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about fair external to good internal condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this gun..
Box & Accessories: Sling swivels are present. There is a canvas case provided that will hold both barrels and the receiver when taken down. The case needs a good washing.
Our Assessment: This gun provides a version of both the "handi-rifle" and the "topper", with its 2 barrel set this combination is very versatile. If you need a gun for the hunting camp, the survival kit or just for plinking this is a great combination. Have some fun with this gun it can handle it. The external surface of the barrels above the receiver shows erosion from poor storage but the bores are clean and bright. The trigger is smooth.
