Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Springfield -- 1903 w/bayonet I.D.ed 10% down layaway

10% down will hold until June 2012 when this item will be again available. For the really serious 03'collector is this excellent WW I era 03' that belonged to a member of the famous NYNG "gray jackets", the 107th NYNG, a elite unit of NY City upper crust men back in the day when even the rich felt they had an obligation to serve the USA. Excellent bore, correct bayonet & sling. Two unit histories that include an identified photo of the owner! Never went to war as the unit served under British command and carried UK weapons. If you want one of the rarest and finest 03s' with real provenance look no further (I do not reveal reserves). C&R or FFL required. Some more details: Serial # SA 61729X, Cartouche J.S.A., BBl date 11/15, Old stlyle Proof P, B in cutout, Bayonet Date SA 1910, Rifle is 100% correct per J.C. Harrison's The Collectible '03. Rifle, Bayonet and books were discovered in a NY City upscale townhouse during a renovation in 1975. Since starting collecting 03's in 1960, I have learned a lot, had some great rifles but, as with all things, there comes a time to move your collection on to the next generation. You'll never see this fine an 03' outside of a major auction company. C&R or FFL required. buyer pays actual shipping cost via priority mail
