Fine WWII 2nd Model Navy Dagger

Offered herein and just obtained from a large

collection of WWI and WWII German

daggers is this very fine 2nd Model

Navy Dagger w/Hammered Scabbard and

decoraated blade. This excellent example has

gilded brass hilt fittings show little surface wear with the large majority of the matte, honey-gold factory fire gilding and lacquer remaining on highlights and in the recesses of the eagle/swastika pommel and fouled anchor crossguard.. The

off-white, celluloid-over-wood grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete with narrow twisted silver wire wrap. Plated double-etched

blade grades Exc-MINT showing only faint runner marks

with just some slight stains to cutting edges. 9.5" blade. 16" overall. The obverse/reverse blade features superbly etched panels with a floral design, fouled anchor and sailing ship

motif on a light gray background and decorated with gold tones in recesses. Dent-free, gilded brass, hammered scabbard retains about all of the factory matte, honey gold-frosting on the highlights and within the recesses of the well-detailed,

hammered pattern. Excellent WWII example of Navy dagger. REMnavy1 Thanks for looking and please e-mail us with any questions PRIOR to bidding.
