Markings: The right side of the frame “Essex Arms Corp. / Island Pond, VT. / 63476”. The left side of the slide is marked “Remington Rand Inc. / Syracuse, N.Y. U.S.A.”. The top of the slide is marked with a “P”. The barrel is marked “P / Colt 45 Auto / 7”. The bottom of the magazine is marked “Colt / .45 Auto”.

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a fixed front blade and a dovetail-set rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock(s) is/are custom rosewood grips with a scrimshawed ivory-like insert in the right panel with a bald eagle. The grips are sharp and besides one or two storage marks, they look practically new. The bottom right grip screw is missing.
Type of Finish: Parkerized (The slide shows the 2-tone Parkerizing)
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The rifling is a bit worn and fouled. There is slight erosion present in the flats.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 93% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows only light storage dings and marks, and some finish thinning on the grip straps. The edges of the slide show losses. The Screw heads are serviceable though showing some light turning. The markings are crisp. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions though we have not test fired the gun.
Box & Accessories: None, but one magazine is included.
Our Assessment: Whether you are buying this as an inexpensive 1911 to shoot or just to get to the barrel and slide for your WWII Remington Rand, there is great value here.

USPS Insured shipping will cost $25.
Your gun will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of payment, usually the next day and you will receive an email notification with a tracking number upon receipt of your payment to let you know that we have received it.
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your dealer’s license with payment. We will need CLFD numbers for CA FFL’s to ship. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
Payment:
Full payment on non-layaway items is required within 14 days. We accept Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Cash and Personal Checks. No Credit Cards or electronic payments are accepted.
CA Sales tax applies to CA buyers (8.25%).
Layaways are offered, requiring a 20% non refundable down payment within 7 days of the auction’s close and the balance within 60 days. No returns are accepted on Layaway items.
