This steel and brass boot pistol has no sights, being for close range only and for shooting only Black Powder or a reasonable powder substitute. It shoots well, having a new stainless steel nipple with rubber guard to prevent damage if dry-fired. The brass has been polished since the pictures were taken. The action is solid and the bore is sharply defined with very little wear and slight signs of age that give this pistol character for display, although fully functional as well for shooting. I preferred to shoot mostly sabots with smaller caliber bullets in it because the metals steel and brass were not as hefty as in larger percussion pistols, but it was apparently made to withstand higher pressures and appears strong. [I will include a couple of sabots containing .357/.38 bullets to show what I mean.] This pistol has been cleaned and maintained after firing and has high temperature nipple grease applied to the threads to insure ease of removal for cleaning. Please do not bid if this item is not legal in your situation. Thanks!
