Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - J.C. Higgins Model 20, 12 Ga. -- Pump Action Shotgun with Poly Choke,

LSB#: 110415DL3

Make: J.C. Higgins

Model: 20

Serial Number: NSN

Year of Manufacture: Unknown, FFL Required

Caliber: 12 Ga.

Action Type: Pump Action Shotgun

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “J.C. Higgins Model 20 – 12 Ga. / Sears, Roebuck And Co. 583.2001”. There is an “EB” and a “P” on the left side of the barrel at the receiver. The right side of the barrel is marked “Proof Tested – 12 Ga. / 2 ¾” Chamber”.

Barrel Length: 26” to the end of the J.C Higgins compensator / poly choke.

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a full length rib and a single bead on the poly choke.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock(s) is/are checkered and lightly varnished with a pistol grip. There are numerous surface marks and surface scratches, but the wood is sound and free of cracks and splits. The LOP is just shy of 14”.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Factory original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly smooth, with only some light streaking. There is no visible erosion.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 80% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some edge wear and general losses from handling and use. There is some beginning surface rust to the receiver flats and a ding or two on the rib. The Screw heads are serviceable, though showing some wear. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about very good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions as designed though we have not test fired it.

Box & Accessories: None

Our Assessment: Here is an old Sears pump action shotgun, certainly less expensive than the Remington’s and Winchester’s, but just as fun to shoot.
