NO RESERVE!! Here's a fine example of a forgotten milestone in firearms development. This is a pinfire revolver that was manufactured by C. Lefaucheux, the inventor of that type cartridge. The pinfire cartridge was invented by Frenchman Casimir Lefaucheux in the 1820's and it was one of the earliest practical metallic cartridge designs. Its history is closely associated with the development of the breechloading firearms.PLEASE NOTE THAT MY EMAIL ADDRESS HAS CHANGED!I CAN BE CONTACTED THROUGH MY AUCTIONS OR DIRECTLY AT:firstname.lastname@example.org
This revolver is chambered for the 7mm pinfire cartridge. It features double-action-only operation with a folding trigger and a 3-3/8" 0ctagonal barrel with typical large front sight. This revolver is handsomely engraved and marked "C. LEFAUCHEUX A PARIS" along the top of the barrel. Overall condition is very nice although one screw is missing from butt. The original grips are in good condition and have some interesting markings inside which appear to be names and some dates...one of the dates looks like 1876 but it's hard to say how old the gun was when this was applied. It has all matching numbered parts and functions well. Comes with a Guns & Ammo magazine which has some interesting info on the LeFaucheux revolvers and pinfire ammunition. Buyer pays $15.00 shipping. This is an antique revolver and as such, no FFL is required for transfer and in most areas it can be shipped directly to the winning bidder. There are exceptions (New Jersey) where an FFL transfer may still be required. Please know your local laws before bidding. Bidder must be a minimum of 21 years old and willing to provide proof of age with payment.
