Our Assessment: The Lee-Enfield rifle was considered to be one of the best bolt action rifles of its day. With a generous 10-round magazine capacity, and a slick "cock on closing" bolt, a trained rifleman could fire up to 30 aimed rounds in 60 seconds, making the Lee-Enfield the fastest military bolt-action rifle in service. It is still in use in some police and military units to this very day! This No 4 Mk. 1 is in good operating order, ready to arm a historical re-enactor, shooting enthusiast, or plinker, who wants a fast-operating, hard hitting, dependable bolt action rifle.
