Guns For Sale - Remington, E. & Sons -- REMINGTON DOUBLE DERRINGER .41 ELLIOTS PATENT

Here is a very nice estate fresh gun for your consideration. This early Remington Derringer appears to be in fine working order and complete as you can see. There was a book that was stored with it about these guns written by Robert Lyles (which I will include with the gun) that I believe denotes this as a MODEL NUMBER 2. I did not try to clean this little gem in any way, the way you see it is the way I picked it. It's a neat little bugger, a real piece of American history. I'm offering it here today without reserve.     Q:  Are there any cracks in the hinges? Is the lock-up tight or is there "wobble" between barrel and frame? Thanks Ken 04/04/2011
        A:  No, I don't see any cracks anywhere. I tried to take good close up images of all the parts for bidders to see. As far as wobble, I would say there is a very slight amount, nothing I wouldn't expect from a gun of this age. I hope this helps. Any other questions please ask. Best, Eric 04/04/2011

    Q:  Does it have nickel finish? Has the nickel peeled or is there just a lot of dirty spots. Does it open up O.K. and how are the bores. Is there any rust under the barrels? Does the hammer and trigger move ok? Thanks ED 04/05/2011
        A:  I believe it is a nickel finish that has worn, not peeled. I'm not sure what you mean by dirty spots but the wear areas are dull, yes. It opens up fine and the bores are clean with some rifling present.There is no rust under the barrels and yes the hammer and trigger are very tight and work fine. 04/05/2011
