Markings: The top of the barrel is marked "Browning Arms Company Ogden Utah". The left side of the receiver is marked "Fabrique Nationale D'armes De Guerre Herstal Belgique Browning’s Patent Depose" . The right side of the barrel is marked "Made In Belgium". There are numerous proof marks on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. All parts have matching serial numbers.

Barrel Length: The barrel is 28" with polychoke.

Sights / Optics: There is a raised brass bead mounted on the polychoke. The top of the receiver is a grooved rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are serviceable and show much use but no abuse. There are numerous dings and handling marks mostly on the left side of the stock, probably from poor storage. There are no major cracks or losses. There is an area of heavy scratching on the left side of the buttstock about in the middle.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bore is clean and bright with no visible erosion.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 70% of its original finish. The balance of the finish shows wear to the high points and just general usage.. The Screw heads are serviceable but some are disfigured. The markings are clear and deep. Overall, this gun rates in about very good condition.

Mechanics: The action appears to function correctly, although we have not test fired it.

Box & Accessories: There is no box.

Our Assessment: This is a very early Belgian made Browning A5. These guns are known for their strong actions and great field use. This will make a great upland game gun, and who doesn’t love 16 Ga... There is much life left in this gun.
