Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - -- 1893 GEWEHR KAR 88 ERFURT GERMAN ARMY Parts RIFLE

This is an old Gewehr 1888 Karabiner '88' German Army Carbine Rifle dated 1893 and made at Erfurt. This is missing a few pieces, with a rough wood stock. This measures 37 1/2 in. long. The bolt is missing as is a screw from the trigger surround. The barrel also has a weld where it narrows, and some grinding just ahead of the receiver. The numbers all match on the metal pieces.

This has considerable overall wear to the stock--it has been shortened at the front, and has split with the remains of some poor repairs--it ain't pretty but there are a lot of usable bits.

Questions for Users
(Public)
Q:  I was wondering why you require an FFL for shipping. All the Commission 88 and KAR 88 rifles were manufactured prior to 1899 and as such are considered antiques and do not require an FFL. 01/04/2011
A:  I am not very familiar with the different manufacturing dates and find it quite confusing to keep up with, selling guns infrequently--if this is true, then you are correct and I will not require an FFL--I am going on the honor system at this point... 01/05/2011
