Here is a fine example of an ITHACA, "LEWIS MODEL", named for Chester Lewis who is credited with the design of the gun. The Lewis Model was made between 1901 and 1906. Serial numbers for this model are approximately 55,000 to 123,500. This one is in the 96xxx range and falls in the midel of the model run and was probably made in 1904. As shown, the barrels have beautiful Damascus patterning, and the bores are excellent, bright and shiny. The barrels are solid with no rib separation and no dents, The wood id solid with a slight repair as shown Markings are all sharp and clear, and the lock up is tight. Traces of original case colors visible on the receiver. All in all, this is a fine looking vintage American shotgun. Because of the Damascus barrels, I would recommend that you have gun checked by your gunsmith before shooting it, and by bidding you acknowledge this. I will need the buyer to provide a signed FFL or C&R and include $35 shipping. NO RESERVE!!!
