5 DAYS ONLY - HERE IS A CHANCE FOR A REAL BARGAIN - NO RESERVE - DON'T WAIT TO BID - HERE I HAVE A NICE LITTLE IVER - 1896 PATANT DATE ON BOTTOM OF GRIP (CAN'T PRECISELY PROVE PRODUCTION DATE SO C&R IS REQUIRED) - "IVER JOHNSONS ARMS CYCLE WORKS" ADDRESS ON BARREL RIB - Serial No. 219XX - THIS IS AN UNCOMMON "BREAK ACTION" WITH THE SCREW-OUT CLYINDER - THIS HAS THE "SAFETY-HAMMER" TRANSFER BAR IN THE FRAME - THIS WAS THE "HAMMER-THE-HAMMER" MODEL THAT IVER INVENTED AFTER A POLICEMAN WAS INJURED WHEN HE DROPPED HIS REGULAR REVOLVER - THESE WERE THEREFORE INTENDED FOR SECONDARY POLICE USE. - 3-1/4" RIBBED BARREL - OVERALL METAL FINISH IS ONLY 85%WITH FLAKING AT SIDES OF FORCING CONE AND MUZZLE - LOTS OF PINGS AND DINGS OVER THE YEARS - SIGNS OF TRIGGER PIN BEING POORLY REPLACED - SOME SURFACE RUST THAT SHOULD CLEAN-UP, BUT I LIKE THE "OLD" ORIGINAL PATINA LOOK IT HAS - RARE 38 S&W CAL WITH 5 SHOT CYLINDER - BORE HAS STRONG RIFLING REMAINING AND IS UNCLEANED VERY GOOD AND WILL LIKELY CLEAN MUCH BETTER - ORIGINAL "OWL HEAD" HARD RUBBER GRIPS ARE NEAR MINT WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS - MECHANICAL CONDITION IS NEAR 100% IN BOTH SINGLE AND DOUBLE ACTION - LOCK-UP HAS A LITTLE WIGGLE BUT CAN BE TIGHTENED - JUST A NICE OLD "COP GUN" - This would make an excellent cowboy shooting piece - Please review all the photos carefully and ask all questions prior to bidding so there won't be any surprises - email to buckstix@aol.com - This and my other vintage arms are not guaranteed for shooting - Have your gunsmith inspect the item before use. - See all my other very rare and collectible items.
