| (no avatar) | Argentine ; Nikko of Japan made these rifles in 1979 - 80 for sale to Winchester in other countries . Only 3 were reported coming to the U.S. A. About 1000 were made . 250 in 30/06 and 750 in different calibers . I would get an opinion from a reputable Win. collector . Something this rare is not going to be easy to get a value on . And since it is not a TRUE WINCHESTER may make it even harder. |

Thanks, Nynn444. I was wondering what all the fuss is about. If it is a Nikko I don't care who them made it for, it is a Nikko. There was a photo of one in .300WM on the net, looked nice, marked Winchester, but big deal. I don't know what niche it falls into. Real Winchester collectors it would seem to me would not be too interested. It is not practical for hunting, all that engraving and finish stock. If I had the money to spend and needed a gun to hunt with there are a whole lot of ways to spend $5k that would make more sense. I see it as a gun you might buy for someone retiring from a company or as a DU raffle prize, something like that.. Thanks again. |
