ammo-one - Just a question; - If I had several auctions selling "lawn chairs", should GunAuction.com be prohibited from accepting any advertizing dollars from lawn chair retailers? Isn't GunAuction.com just accepting advertizing dollars from any business whether it is gun related or not? And you just happen to be in one of those categories that share that market?

Brain, you know "I love ya", BUT, If I'm selling scopes, and, there is an ad from "Optics World", in the center of my auction, selling them cheaper than I can buy them whosale, how do I compete? If you click on that ad, and see the same thing $20.00 cheaper, and, free shipping, what would you do?. I feel, that if I list an auction, then, it is MY auction, and, any competiors should be OUTSIDE of my auction page, (mabey above, or below?) as I will be paying for the "space" my auction takes up, if I make the sale. And, if you notice, many of the adds, sell hundereds of different items, directly, competeing with my auction. I, don't like it, but, I also can't compete with the "big guns" here, with NO ads on their auctions. JMO. WALI......................... |

Brainaxe ? is that an axe in the brain :-) just kidding , it is an odd handle. Nothing personal but you are most likely not a seller with only 22 postives? So not sure why your even on the seller part of this forum, but enjoy it. After 10 years and over 1,500 postives I think I have earned my right to bitch. I do agree AA has the right to do what they want to do. As long as they understand no seller has to stay here and put up with it ( There are other auction sites. If AA loses sellers due to the "OVER" advertizing on AA, what will happen when the advertizes leave AA because no one is using the site anymore ? WE ALL LOSE! but AA will lose it all, Times are tough enough without having "Cheaper than Dirt" and "Midway" on the same page as your auctions. (THAT WE PAY FOR IN COMMISIONS) What is next "OBAMA ADS" ;-) It is just bad business and an insult to the sellers |

That was kinda the point I was making. I am NOT a big seller here, just an ant on the farm, but, I still dont like gettin stepped on. And, BTW, Brain is a definite ASSette here, and, the exodous has already begun, just look elsewhere. Not hard to see. |

Didn't step on anyone, just making fun of the handle. But what really isn't funny is the lost money sellers are losing to the advertizes, so lets try staying on the subject . "Cheaper than Dirt" and "Midway" are laughting at all of us...... I am surprized GB isn't advertizing on this site. This isn't a forum it is a place where a few people play games and think they own the forum for there own use. Others of us are trying to make a living. So have a ball I don't plan on playing the game , I am to busy making money on other sites, as I can not make a dime on this one anymore. |

I still dont like gettin stepped on (Read my post in context) I wasn't talkin about you, and, I agree with 95% of what you posted. "Others of us are trying to make a living". Me too, just can't make it here, doing many other things to put a bean on the table. Me, and my wife are puttin 3 kids through college, and, half raising 2 grandkids, and, supplying 80% of the money for everybody. I come on these forums, to relive a huge amount of stress, it's cheap fun, and, I can afford it. "I am to busy making money on other sites." Well, I am happy for you, wish I could say the same, things are just a "little tough" round here, but, were gonna make it, and, try to laugh a little along the way. WALI........... |

ammo-one - Yes. It is a funny handle. It is meant to be thought provoking. "A brain used as an axe to cleave between fact and fiction." No. I'm not a seller. But that does not preclude me from posting on this forum. I have paid for that privilege, as have you. I was only asking you a few questions in post #1. - I kinda wish you would answer specifically. There are advertisers on this site. Not all are gun related. And I don't know if the adds show up randomly or if they are targeted to a particular seller. (I doubt that.) Are you saying that GunAuction.com does not have a right to advertize on their site? ( Remember, even your auction page is their property. They only lease it to you.) Again, everyone sells just about everything on this, and other sites. Do you expect this and other sites to not advertize companies that happen to sell the same products that you sell? |

of course they have the right to advertise on their site. but even though you correctly state "Remember, even your auction page is their property. They only lease it to you", what would YOU think if you ran a business selling brainaxe brand pinheads and leased a truck to deliver those pinheads to all of your buyers, but the lease company insisted on painting that truck with ads for clownface brand pinheads all over it so that all your potential pinhead buyers could see is your competitors ads? yes, the site belongs to them but the seller is paying for a service with the implied expectation that the space and service they are paying for will be utilized for the furtherance of the sellers business, not their competition. even the hated green site does not put ads for either real or potential competitors smack in the face of viewers of the auction page their sellers pay for. |

ammo-one: A seller can opt out of having ads in their listings at the cost of $0.25 for each ad. See the thread that I started in the "Seller Forum". However, I thought that thumbnails were only $0.25 each one per listing. I got charged $0.50 for each one in four listings. This is typical of AA/GA. The right hand does not have any earthly idea what the right hand is doing. brainaxe..........with all due respect, which is beginning to wain..........I still see you continue listing to the left. You continue to be the atta boy voice for AA/GA who jumps to defend whatever anyone may have to say in a negative fashion about this site. This is very, very, sad indeed. I have tried about all that I know how to do in order to get my ad listings to display properly in the "Classic" mode to no avail. I thought that I could comeback and enjoy listing my items again on this site, but it is not to be. Once my current auctions run their course, they will be listed on other sites where the atmosphere is more user friendly and where the grass is much greener. I once enjoyed these forums, however, they have degraded into something like a bunch of school kids sitting around a camp fire tryin to find someone new to bully and chase off the site. I may stop by to see if I can try to snipe an item every so often, but my recent effort in selling has proven to me to be but nothing but a complete waste lf time and effort. Bubba J |
