I hope someone paided by Postal Money order and can file a complaint which I believe would be a felony and I hope he can be  prosecuted to the fullest.

last time I called the Postal Authorities on someone they wanted to know if he was wearing a turbin? Then stated, "Do you have any idea how many SSN checks are stolen and lost each month? Good luck." JohnT

I had a postal money order get lost for a while and the post office said I couldn't file a claim for 30 days. Even if I had sent it registered mail which I didn't they said their system is not like UPS where it is logged in and out at every transfer. It could take months for them to find it.

One of the greatest scams ever pulled on the Public is the assumption they can be readily tracked and the Postal Authorities will jump right on it. You can cancel a check. You can't that MO. It is paid for and long gone. JohnT

I just went through a lost Money Order claim with the Post office, they wont take the 6401 form till 30 days are up from the date of purchase, I was told that if nothing is found in another 30 days they will void the M/O and refund you the full amount LESS the fee of $5.40.  All said and done it took about month to get refunded.

Replacement of Lost or Stolen Money Orders
To replace a lost or stolen money order, a customer will need to fill our Form 6401 at a Post office and pay a fee of $5.40. After the USPS completes a payment inquiry on the status of the money order, a replacement can be issued.
