Believe me, this dead horse was beaten so badly that they didn't even have to process it before putting it in the Alpo can. |

(I predicted weeks ago that with the use of the 10 minute rule, the "Bid Increments" would be raised from the typical $1-$5 up to $10 and $20 dollar range. And sure'nuff, I'm seeing it on more and more aucs!) As a bidder/buyer I like the 10 min.rule, it gives me more chances to win, but not at $20 bucks a pop! |

| (no avatar) | 20's can stall the bidding....what I don't get is how they change or what drives the increments? |

Treb, the bid increment is chosen by the seller when he lists an item. We always leave it at the default value, which is 1.00 at the minimum per AA's system. |

| (no avatar) | Ah thanks, I thought it was driven by the price level... |

| (no avatar) | I don't understand why buyers want the 10 minute rule. I like to snipe and this is almost always how I bid. I don't use any sniping software I do it the old fashoned way. I set a reminder on my phone to remind me when a gun I am interested in is about to close. I then check the price of the item. If it is not above my already pre-established maximium I wait until there is about 20 seconds left and submit my bid. If I win great, if I don't big deal I should have put in a higher maximum bid than I did and I would have won. If there is something on here that you want really bad put a proxy bid on it for $10,000 (assuming the item is worth substantially less than that). You WILL win. You may pay more than you wanted and I don't reccommend doing it, but you WILL win. Because no matter what bid is submitted by a sniper, unless they bid over $10,000, your earlier higher bid wins out. So I guess what I am saying is if people would bid what they are actually willing to pay in the first place the 10 minute rule would be unnecessary. |

| (no avatar) | Large bid increments are a definite turnoff. |

Buyers aren't that fond of the 10-minute rule; sellers are. There was the "thrill of the hunt" in hoping you could "snipe" a nice item at a bargain price by bidding at the last possible instant. That's gone now. |
