| (no avatar) | Is this normal for Auction Arms ? I called the support number and they told me that they reset "JACKTHEDOGS" auction to allow him to extend it. Why would I want to pay, say $500, for a gun that I won for $400 on Sunday night. I dont blame "JACKTHEDOG" for wanting to get the most for his gun, but I thought that if a auction ends at a set time, the high bidder at that set time wins the auction. |

| (no avatar) | I guess this little "LOOPHOLE" will let high volume sellers out of there "BINDING CONTRACTS" if they think they could of gotten more for there gun. |

Hi, ctrax, I can understand your frustration with your experience yesterday and I know you were disappointed with the current result. However, please see our note in System Info & Announcements Forum regarding the problems we encountered yesterday when overwhelming customer sign-ins, locked out several competing bidders. Seems JackTheDog's auctions scheduled to close during that time frame were most effected by locked-out bidders. In order to be fair to potential bidders and to JacktheDog we decided to extend his auctions, if you are not outbid, you will of course win that auction, however, in the interest of fair-play to all users and to maintain a level playing field, we felt that it was appropriate to extend these particular auctions. |

| (no avatar) | My "Binding Contract" was for the auction ending on Sunday Night. When I placed this bid it was with the understanding that the auction would be over on Sunday night. This holds me up for an additional 2 days that I can't bid on other auctions. I am a man of my word . I placed my bid, waited for the auction to end, I won an auction, called with credit card in hand to pay, and was told the Auction would be extended. Who's to say this wont happen again? I can't put all my bidding for other auctions on hold, and just hope that the Auction Arms system will work this time. By the way do the people at customer support answer any of there emails? |

| (no avatar) | Are any of the contracts that were suppose to end and are now extended still "BINDING"? |

| (no avatar) | CTRAX; Look at the auction closely. At the bottom of the auction under feedback notice the right to relist if site goes down within 12 hours of end of auction. This clause is in all of this sellers and many other sellers auctions. You have no binding contract . |

| (no avatar) | Old Rattler. I noticed that on his auction. They didn't relist it though, They extended it 2 more days. This ensures that the I would pay at least what I won it for and probably more. Does this happen alot on Auction Arms? Like I said earlier, I don't blame JackTheDog, but when you bid on something, get a email saying you won it, then are informed otherwise it smells fishy. I was on Auction Arms all through the day and it was up and running everytime I checked. I've have been on the buyer and seller side of well over a hundred transactions on Gunbroker and never had anything go wrong. Why doesn't Auction arms contact the bidders when something like this happens? Were all of the Auctions yesterday extended 2 days? |

CTRAX...AS FAR AS THE AUCTIONS SOME OF MINE WENT DOWN ALSO. I DECIDED TO START THEM FROM FROM ZERO AGAIN. BUT IN JACKTHEDOG'S CASE HE WOULD CREATE A MAJOR LOG JAM OF HIS AUCTIONS SINCE HE DOES SO MANY. IF HE DID AS I DID ALL AUCTIONS WOULD CLOSE IN TWO WEEKS WITH LOTS OF OTHERS CLOSING.. THEN HE WOULD HAVE TO BUST HIS BUTT SHIPPING.
HE IS A ONE MAN OPERATION AND HE WORKS CLOSE TO 19 HOURS A DAY. DO YOU WORK THAT MUCH? I HAVE WORKED SIDE BY SIDE WITH HIM A FEW TIMES FOR A WEEK. WHEN HE GOES TO SLEEP HE IS UP WORKING 4 1/2 HOURS LATER. SO STOP CRYING IT WAS NOT HIS FAULT! I HAD MARCUS FROM AA SEND AN E MAIL TO MY BIDDERS. HERE IS COPY AND PASTE. Marcus here from AuctionArms.com. It has come to my attention that you were the high bidder on an auction that closed during an outage on our site. Item number 952 http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?ItemNum=952 Due to the technical difficulties during the auction we’ve ruled that the auction is now void and have given the seller permission to relist the item in question. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. Thank you, Marcus www.AuctionArms.com |

Just curious if it is known whether or not more bids were attempted after CTRAX's bid? Is that information in the system somewhere? If no bids were made, then just honor the last bid. If it can't be determined, then the auc should start from zero. (Just a thought)((2c)) |
