It would be nice to be able to put out the info on stolen guns. I had a Colt Single action in pristine condition taken by a gunsmith who quickly left town with it. This was in 1974. Orange County Calif police did not want to get involved for one gun, same for ATF. I tracked the guy to Las Vegas NV. The police would get involved if OC would provide a warrant. To this day I search for the gun. I keep 8x10 photos of all my guns but it has not helped. A means to put the info out there would help the buyers and sellers as well as those searching for their lost property.
This is why you always have a minimum of at least 2 guns. To go after the son of a bachelor that stole your other gun!
