Thread Title: "censorship in the forums?"
Hagrid I was under the impression that the AA staff monitored the forum for inappropiate language and picture content as well as post not within the subject of the thread. I did not know that thread administer or the guy who started an issue could simply remove any post that was not consistant with thier view. Both 5THCOMMJARHEAD and I had our post removed (wish list PI ED OFF)by the thread administer. If my comments can be removed simply because they don't agree with the original poster it is a sorry state of affairs. we were just talking about sticking together as a group and some knothead pulls a stunt like this. Why bother to submit a comment if it is simply erased. Maybe MY LAST TWO CENTS HERE TRAPPER

(no avatar) trap; Click on any thread and scroll all the way to bottom where it says start a thread . Click on that and read the rules .

Don't know why yours was removed, but the thread admin. IS held accountable by AA to police their thread.

I have removed post before and will do it again on my threads if the post is out of line with what can be read on an open forum by young and old alike. But I always give an explanation as to Why it was removed.

If you allow one "brilliant soul" to dictate your going or staying here, HE WINS!!! Do you REALLY want that?

(no avatar) Trap; My views on deleting on these post may differ from yours , but as stated before , it is in the rules the admin. is responsible for policing his thread.

BUT; In my opinion things get out of hand on this sometimes.

These forums belong to ALL members of AA , no matter who , and provide hours of relaxation and a wealth of knowledge shared by us all . But we all know, whether we like it or not , if the threads were not policed they could turn in to something that could work against us.

I have asked for before, a way that an admin. could delete certain words of a post that was not suitable for young eyes to see , without the whole post being deleted. But I got nowhere with that idea BECAUSE it was considered censorship. I have seen a lot of good post that were ruined by a few out of line words . I make no bones about it . IF ON MY THREADS the language gets out of line I WILL delete it , but there will be an explanation . I don't tolerate foul language around my young ones , in person and I will not tolerate it on my threads.

I do detest those that will delete simply because they don't agree with an opinion or because they don't like the poster.

Willie TA brought up some more reasons . Wild West Guns has established his feelings on these forums about ANYONE except a store front dealer . To him all the rest of us are HOBBYIST, and he looks down on us .I should re word that . It is not WILD WEST GUNS that does this . WWG is a good outfit . It is Ken of WWG that does this.

I am blocked from their bid list for no other reason than I have called his hand on this on the forums. He also deletes anything that several of us post for no other reason than we call his bluff . NOT RIGHT. IF I cared ENOUGH , WHICH I DON'T, I WOULD CONTACT M/S WEST and inform her of his attitude.

Everything said and done though. DON'T LET THIS GET TO YOU.

Hagrid I think what ticks me off the most is I can't remember what I said at that point in the discussion.however, I do know that I go out of my way to be civil and if thats impossible I make a jarhead remark and move on LOL. I appreciate the fact that this is a mixed company site and I have always kept it clean. I just don't feel that it is right to remove someones thoughts on a subject just because it conflics with what you are preaching. we are looking at a classic case of that right now with the Imus situation.I know what he said is wrong and hateful but I don't hear Sharpton or Jackson calling for Farrakans head when he calls the jewish people or white people in general names and spews forth the hatred he does for his pulpit.Same said for Howard Stearns, if you have ever seen his tv show, you know what I mean.Jackson is a preacher, had an affair with a woman who works for him, He's still a preacher. Sharpton is a civil right advocate who called for jail time and raised all kinds of hell and got 6 policemen fired for the Twanna Brawley case when she sceamed rape and it was all a fake and a lie. Never even heard Sharpton apologize to the public or the cops involved.he was above that and he still has his job. This type of double standard gives me a pain in the place on my body that I put in the chair. Boy, That is REALLY MY TWO CENTS TRAPPER

(no avatar) Trapper, if someone removes your post from their thread, just start your own thread and state your position. This way you are in charge and only AA staff can delete your posts, and if you ask them they will tell you why. Personally, I try to keep things light because I can get really worked up if I let myself go. So relax, stick around, and help us put the fun back in dysFUNctional!
