Thread Title: "Question on max bid in a reserve auction"
(no avatar) If I place a maximum bid on a reserve auction and I am the high bidder and if my maximum bid is higher than the reserve amount. Will my bid stop when it meets the reserve so that I win the item at the lowest price or will it go over the reserve amount and place my maximum bid amount?

Hi, hight flight. Your bid will register as the minimum to meet the seller's reserve. The remainder will be retained and used incrementally (again, only as much as needed to keep you as the top bidder)as a proxy against other bidders until exhausted or the auction ends with you as the successful.

Good luck!

(no avatar) Got bad news for you,no bid can be retracted! It happened to me once,I meant to bid $102.00 and bid $10,200 instead.I ended up winning it for $167.Ultimately you must try to work this problem out with the seller.Or just pay the price. Its like at a live auction you didn't mean to but you did.Good Luck.Grant Williams-President-SportsmansSupply

(no avatar) boa.cox...I've done the "one too many keystrokes" thing and wound up bidding $1000 for something I meant to bid $100 for. MOST (notice the qualifier...MOST) sellers will end and re-list their auctions if someone has made a blatant error and simply explain it on the re-list. Just a thought in case your auction hasn't closed yet...//Donnie aka: pawndon
