Thread Title: "Do you want to get a deal on hard cases"
AA-bob Sellers, those of you who ship long guns in the injection molded hard cases, please respond if you have interest in obtaining these cases at a better price than yopu are currently paying.

I am investigating the possibility of a massive buy to drive the price down as low as I can and pass along the savings to benefit our sellers. Here is the information I need:

  • What manufacturer makes the case you are using now (list all if more than one in the order of preference) If a model or SKU number is available, that would help greatly.
  • Are they US or Foreign manufactured?
  • How many do you now purchase/use in a years time?
  • What features are important (I know some of you require the case comes individually boxed in a sleeve). Egg crate foam? pad lockable? Dimensions? Whatever, just list the features your cases need to have.
  • What features are not critical, but might be nice to have (color, etc?)
  • What price are you now paying, including shipping and taxes, and in what quantities are you ordering them in.
  • I know this is something that will raise a ruckus and controversy, but how important to you is a case manufactured in the US and what premium would you be willing to pay over a less expensive foreign manufactured item. Be honest, not politically correct.
  • If AuctionArms were able to arrange a quantity buy at a better price (assuming the same quality) than you are paying now, shipping and taxes included, how many would you obligate yourself to purchase in the next year and when would you start needing to replenish your stock.

I'm sure I've probably missed something important, so if I have please post any questions here.

If I can get enough firm demand expressed, I'll see if I can get good pricing on a quantity buy for you all.

Petesguns Bob, I use about 300 or so a year, and the number is increasing. The most popular ones I use are Doskocil SE, single gun Gun Guard Series for scoped rifles. They measure 48.375 x 11 x 3.375. I also buy cardboard boxes to put them in which measure 10.5 x 3.25 x 50. They fit snuggly and ship without any damage. They have a foam liner. I don't care one way or the other if they are domestically made or not. In small quantities, they cost me 56 bucks for 6 and 2 bucks per sleeve, plus shipping. I would sign on for 200 to start if it works out. GOOD IDEA!!! Let the screaming begin!

(no avatar) We now purchase the Plano #151101 Pro-max single scoped rifle case. The dimensions are 53.5 x 3.75 x13.I buy them direct from Plano drop shipped to my store in 300 lot increments. My cost including a cardboard shipping outer box is about 11.25 delivered.I see that my local distributor will sell them one at a time for 11.50 without the cardbord which doesn't help much.

I don't have the room to buy a larger quantity than this. The Gun guard rep has been calling on me for 20 years or more and they can not compete on price with Plano at this time.Good Luck with your efforts.

(no avatar) It is a great idea - i ship all long guns in hard cases-but i need to find a source for cardboard boxes that fit the hardcase- handguns are shipped in the couiers box no problem-we ship the rilfe in a hard case and ship the cardboard box to there house- we Q $35 but it is running closer to $40-45 // with shipping and ins for the gun-plus shipping the box-the ups store in this area gets $16.75+ for a plain cardboard box - that is more than the hardcase i get from jerry's here in ohio-i had 1 customer get an 1100 wrapped in bubble wrap-it came uninsured -the butt-stock looked like it had been ran over -cracked all the way through it -we had bought a bunch of stocks - gave him one-nice kid -what can you do-dave

(no avatar) Bob, I would like the single gun cases, foam (egg shell) and snaps. Locking is not really important but which ever. I use more hand gun cases but would love to have the option of long cases. Will they come in various lengths, or just one standard size? Larry

(no avatar) Petes--- AA Bob probably figures there is not enough interest. I would have got on board but I already have 250 hard cases I bought at the BIG ROCK DEALER SHOW. Most big sellers still don't get it. For the small dealer or privte seller. I have been sending them my own hard case along with my FFL,payment and A UPS return label. All the seller has to do is put the gun in the hard case and call UPS for pickup. Tks
